A town with jobs on the way.
Ignace is set to grow. The Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) is opening its Centre of Expertise in town, and its repository project will bring long-term jobs to the area. More people are coming, and Ignace needs more homes for new workers, young families and long-time residents ready to downsize.
Employees planned at the NWMO Centre of Expertise, opening in Ignace in 2028.
Long-term jobs expected in Ignace once the NWMO repository is running. Building it is expected to employ about 600 people for 10 years.
Proposed projects nearby, including Raleigh Lake lithium and Bending Lake iron, could bring even more jobs.

Revita Communities in Ignace.
Building housing for the people powering Ignace’s growth.
About Revita
Revita’s mission is to create affordable housing for Canadians through pragmatic solutions that help address Canadian communities’ housing shortages.
Ignace is a natural fit for this mission: a community with real workforce housing needs and a Township ready to grow.
Our commitment to Ignace
Revita’s investment in Ignace has two parts:
- Workers’ housing. Revita has acquired 25 lots to develop housing for the growing local workforce, helping the Township meet demand from major employers as Ignace’s population expands.
- Affordable housing. More information to come.
Growing with Ignace
Ignace is planning for the future. The Township is working to strengthen the local economy and make room for new jobs, new businesses and the families that come with them.
Our homes are exactly the kind of new housing the Township wants to see: homes for the people whose work is powering Ignace’s growth, close to their jobs and part of a growing community.
